Welcome to the official website for Afro-Mumanzi. We’re a Vancouver Island marimba band with a contemporary spin on African and Caribbean music. As well as playing marimba and hand drums, we add drum kit and violin to our original compositions. From the jazzy arrangement of Maracuja and Reggae rhythms of Odro to the Celtic interlude in Rain, our songs span cultures.
Last summer we performed at the Afro Carib Carnival in Victoria, the Islands Music Festival in Duncan, and KidFest in Parksville. Our goal in 2011 is to play for new audiences at festivals around the province and beyond.
Our web profile includes past gigs and concert reviews as well as news about our world music camp and community projects. You’ll also find audio tracks and videos recorded off the floor during a dance at the Errington War Memorial Hall.
Presenters, our EPK is posted on the site.

We update our website often, so come back and visit us soon.
